About QuackPort
It started with the small joy of finding a hidden duck on a cruise ship.
Cruise ducking is a tradition where travellers hide small rubber ducks around ships and ports for others to discover. Finding one brings a smile, a laugh, and sometimes a new friend. A little duck can travel from person to person, ship to ship, and sometimes right across the world.
But there has always been one problem.
Most ducks are tracked with a paper tag tied to the outside. Tags fall off, get wet, fade or tear, and when that happens the duck's story disappears with them. Its journey can no longer be followed.
That's where QuackPort began.
The idea
I wanted ducks to have a digital passport and a travel history, so that everyone who finds one can see where it has been and add their own stop to its story.
Every QuackPort duck carries a unique QR code that opens its log page. Scan it to log where you found it and add your stop to its passport, see where the duck has travelled, then hide it again for the next traveller.
What starts as a simple toy becomes something more — a shared travel adventure.
A personal project
QuackPort isn't a large company or a mass-produced product line.
It's a personal project that brings together travel, technology and the fun moments cruise ducking creates. Every duck is prepared by me, from generating its QR code to assembling it and getting it ready to travel.
The goal isn't just to sell ducks. It's to give people around the world a way to share small moments of discovery and connection, and to keep each duck's story alive.

The vision
My hope is that one day QuackPort ducks travel across ships, countries and continents, writing a global story together with the people who find them. Every duck's journey is built by the community that discovers it.
